RX is the new eXtreme microcontroller family from Renesas. Thanks to Renesas' proprietory flash technology, these parts run up to 100 MHz without waitstates. Further features of the RX610 are:

• Single precision floating point unit (FPU)
• 165 MIPS @ 100 MHz
  
• up to 2MB flash / 128KB RAM
• 4 DMA units - using own bus
• DSP capabilities with MAC, instructions with saturation
• 7 serial communication channels
